If you have never tried yoga or pilates it may seem that these practices may not really do much by way of weight loss. But let me tell you that is not true. Very much to the contrary I must say! I have been participating in both yoga and pilates group fitness sessions for over a year now. I kid you not, I have had a weight loss of eleven pounds.

The practice of yoga and pilates will wake up muscles in your body you had long ago forgotten about. The positions felt very odd to me at first and I won't lie, they were quite challenging to to hold. I kept with it and to my surprise they became easier very quickly. I also built muscle, became leaner and noticed weight loss in a very short period of time! I was very pleased and you would be too if you gave the practice of yoga or pilates a try.

My favorite part of these group fitness classes, besides the weight loss I have experienced, is the last ten minutes. We stretch, listen to extremely mellow music and meditate. We focus on our breathing and relaxing our bodies from head to toe. I always part these classes with a smile on my face and skip in my step. You don't know what you are missing out on!
